Julianne Hough: ‘I’m Totally Out of Shape’
The Dancing With the Stars champ says she’s letting herself go while she’s on tour this summer
It’s amazing where you can run into a celebrity nowadays. I caught up with triple threat Julianne Hough at the Elkhart County 4H Fair in Indiana. The petite bombshell is spending her summer touring as the opening act for country legend George Strait. And while she’s singing cross-country, the Dancing With the Stars champ is letting loose and enjoying all the fast food this country has to offer.
“I never workout, so I’ve put on some weight since we finished Dancing With the Stars,” Julianne confesses. “All the performing and dancing keeps me in shape, but right now I’m definitely not in dancing form. When everyone else is working out and tan in the summer, I’m totally out of shape and pale! I usually get back into shape in the fall for the show – and, of course, spray tanned!”
Touring country fairs is certainly a far cry from the glitter and glitz of Hollywood, but Julianne loves it.
“We performed at a rodeo in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and it was a riot!” she told me. “It was a sea of white cowboy hats – I’ve never seen so many people with cowboy hats in one place.”
And along with the fairs comes the fried food, and lots of it.
“Fried anything is good,” Julianne laughs. “My band and I just went through the fair and rode rides and we ate everything. I ate a fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It was amazing!”
