Kate Middleton + Prince William Are (Finally) Having a Baby!
It finally happened: Kate Middleton and Prince William are expecting a baby! Get the scoop here!
Well, Bettys, it finally happened: Kate Middleton and Prince William, AKA the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are officially having a baby! Maybe now we can all leave them be and get back to our regularly scheduled lives? Oh, and congratulations, you two crazy kids!
According to People, the Palace confirmed today that Kate is, in fact, pregnant. “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby,” the statement read. “The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news.” Hoorah!
Unfortunately, poor Kate seems to be suffering from the morning sickness from hell; she was admitted this afternoon to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Only about 2% of women suffer from it, but the upshot of it is that dehydration, malnutrition, and other complications can arise because of it. Wills is currently with her at the hospital; the Palace’s statement addressed the issue, saying that “as the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter.”
We hope that Kate gets well soon! What’s super exciting about the pending new royal is that thanks to a recent rule change, the child can expect to inherit the throne from Wills even if she’s a girl. The couple will be relocating in early 2013 from their current home, a four-bedroom farmhouse in North Wales near William’s RAF Valley base, into the 20-room Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace.
Congratulations, Will and Kate!
