Katherine Heigl Needs Help Dressing Her Baby
The star of “Killers” reveals this and other interesting tidbits in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar.
In the June issue of Harper’s Bazaar, Katherine Heigl proves she hasn’t fully been cured from foot-in-mouth syndrome. When talking about her new adopted daughter from Korea, Naleigh, Heigl explains her only child is considered special-needs because she was born with a congenital heart problem, but had open-heart surgery in Korea to fix the problem.
“Her heart is 100 percent fine now,” Heigl says. “She has a scar, so she won’t be wearing bikinis, which is fine by us.”
Katherine, sweetie, are you implying that people who have scars should always cover them up? I have a scar on my chin from surgery, does that mean I should wear turtlenecks all the time?
Speaking of what Naleigh is wearing, Heigl admits that competing with other fashionable celebrity babies is hard. “Dude, I try, but I’m not nailing the baby fashion,” she says. “It’s intimidating. I get beautiful outfits from Gap and baby Juicy, but I’m not layering it or putting her in Prada flats. It’s really stressing me out.”
Ugh, Katherine, it’s really not that hard. And there is no need for Prada flats – just cute ensembles. Here are some ideas to get you started.
But Heigl isn’t done talking yet. It wouldn’t be a complete interview if the ex-Grey’s Anatomy castmember didn’t take a jab at the rest of Hollywood, which she calls “high school on steroids.” On raising Naleigh, she says, “I want her privilege to afford her to seek many different things that might fulfill her. I don’t want her to have a Beemer on her 16th birthday or spend the summer at a beach house with friends. Nope. You want a beach house, you pay for it.”
P. Diddy, did you hear that? (Harper’s Bazaar)
