When most of us think of traveling 3000 miles, we think of planes, trains, or in a worst case scenario, a long car trip. Not Katie Spotz. She’s attempting to bike 3000 miles, that’s half the Tour de France, in a very short time. Katie’s taking part in the Ride4Water race. The endurance athlete is raising money for the Blue Planet Network . The non profit’s mission is to bring safe, sustainable water world-wide.
Ride4Water kicked off last Saturday, June 15th. But a week before that, Katie fractured her pelvis. The athlete wouldn’t give up on the race. She’s making the 3000 mile journey via handbike.
The Ride4Water race is a non-stop, cross-country bike race from California to Maryland. Bikers will do their best to make it in only eight short days. The race is raising money for the Blue Planet Network. The non profit’s mission is to bring safe, sustainable water world-wide.
