Khloe Kardashian: “Lamar and I Have Both Lost Family to Cancer”
The celebutante, Khloe Kardashian, chats with Betty at the Power Balance poker event to benefit Ovarian Cancer Research.
With the Kardashians in full force on the red carpet, last night’s star-studded Power Balance “All-In for the Cure” charity poker event to Benefit Ovarian Cancer Research Fund was a hip Hollywood To-Do. Betty’s LA Correspondent was there to catch up with the gambling heavyweights, which included pro athletes and celebs alike.
Khloe Kardashian looked effortless in a one-sleeve gray number accented only with a splash of diamonds and her significant rump- we mean hubby- tall drink of water Lamar Odom. As to the night’s activities, she told BettyConfidential supporting the cause was “so important. Lamar and I have both lost family to cancer, so dealing with any project that’s in that category of cancer, ovarian, or whether it be breast or colon is important.”
Khloe and Lamar use their star power to help the cause as much as possible. “We try to lend our names to as many events that are still fun and bring entertainment but also have some substance to it,” she said. “I think that’s what’s important that we can all go out and have fun but at least have there be something behind it.”
When asked whether the highly competitive athletes would beat the actors and celebs, she noted that Lamar had just had a bad streak of luck in Vegas last weekend, so she was hoping today would go a little more smoothly for him playing for the charity. Admittedly, she is an “awful poker player,” and will try to raise money the best she can.
Sister Kim Kardashian looked somber, clad in all black, rushing through the red carpet line with little comment to anyone. Perhaps she’s still mourning her break-up with absent footballer Reggie Bush?
More fun to chat with was the notoriously gorgeous “Old Spice Guy,” Isaiah Mustafa whose mega-watt smile and fab physique have been heating up YouTube and BoobTube alike. Isaiah, the authority on all things masculine, while not much of a gambler, had heaps of other games on his iPhone, showing us all that even manly men play Words With Friends in their free time. Also in attendance were Mekhi Phifer, Jeremy Piven, Jerry Ferrara, and Macy Gray, all hoping to get dealt good hands to help prevent Ovarian Cancer.
