Look Like a Badass Swashbuckler in Kat Von D’s Spring Collection
These edgy vests and lengthy dresses from Kat Von D’s Hidden Treasures collection will perfect your warm weather wardrobe.
Many of you know and love Kat Von D for her Sephora beauty line and her reality show LA Ink. But this leading lady really is as talented as she is tattooed. When we caught wind of her “Hidden Treasures” Spring/Summer 2012 collection, we couldn’t help but check it out.
Following her luxe-looking but largely neutral Fall 2011 line, this collection is brimming with Kat’s colorful personality and unique sense of style.
As we leafed through the line’s lookbook, we noticed that the KvD Los Angeles pieces seemed to channel both The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and Pirates of the Caribbean. In most ways, this was a very good thing. But as with many collections on the market, some pieces were way too far out to sea for us.
For those of you interested in picking up a piece from the line, jackets range from $295-400, tops from $90-200, and dresses from $250-600. It will be available in select stores and online on February 14, 2012.
Among Kat’s best pieces were the super sultry blazers, jackets, and vests. With its detailed front closure, chic collar, and midnight black hue, the Starboard vest is badass enough for Dragon Tattoo’s Lisbeth Salander. And if you’re more of the feminine type, simply pair it with skinny jeans and sky high heels for a sophisticated look.
If you’re searching for the perfect black blazer, the High Seas jacket will do the trick and then some. Its unique cut will add a little oomph to any ensemble while still being fit for dinner with your guy’s parents.
If you want to go edgy without falling off the fashion bandwagon, try the Tesoro jacket on for size. Muted enough to be work appropriate, you’ll look risqué without risking your job!
While spring is like prime time for cute jackets, we couldn’t resist these sleek dresses. The Flagship dress’ ladylike length makes it perfect for an office party or a dinner with your beau. If you’ve been dying to trade in that little black dress for a more original number, this is your frock. Feel free to top your haute new look with fun accessories!
On that note, if you’re looking for something with a bit more bling, pair the Derelict tank and Diving Bell skirt for an attention grabbing outfit.
