MBFW: Charlotte Ronson Goes Beach Chic for Spring ‘13
Bralettes and minis and tote bags, oh my! Charlotte Ronson perfects the glamour girl gone beach babe look.
Charlotte Ronson’s spring/summer 2013 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week lineup had us aching for days spent by the seaside. Models paraded down the runway in short shorts, flouncy frocks, peplum minis, ’70s-style bralettes, and super sheer tops (FYI: We spotted quite a few pairs of nipples. Scandalous!). As the gals were busy strutting, Charlotte’s twin sis, DJ Samantha Ronson, spun tunes.
Candy-colored hues like lemonade yellow, shocking pink, rosy red, and spearmint green were reminiscent of Coney Island’s boardwalk. But these duds were definitely not the usual shorts and tee fare of casual beachgoers.
Though midriffs were a hot accessory on this catwalk, ladylike materials like silk, tulle, organza, and leather kept the ensembles in check. Heart, daisy, and water lily prints added a touch of sweet to the sporty leather and clear vinyl varsity jackets.
But perhaps the most enticing pieces were the handbags. The prints–which included stripes and ditsy daisies, were fit for any balmy spring day. From minaudières to totes and everything in between, there was enough variance to fit any occasion.
Whether you’re planning a spring garden party or a summer getaway with the girls, you’ll want to look to Charlotte Ronson for outfit inspiration.
