BC: Who’s your skincare role model? Living, dead, famous, not—anyone is fair game!
HMC: My role model is a melting pot of several people combined: Martha Stewart, Ivanka Trump, Julia Child, and Marilyn Monroe rank at the top of the list!
BC: Do you have a favorite ingredient that you like to work with? What is it and why?
HMC: I just adore working with shea butter. I’m amazed at how beneficial it is for the skin—which is why I use it in many of my products!
BC: Speaking of ingredients—can you tell us a little about what goes into each product?
HMC: I use the best quality organic, naturally sourced, and fair trade ingredients I can get my hands on. All my products are highly concentrated to be more effective and made fresh in small batches to ensure quality and freshness.
BC: Have you ever created any duds—things that you thought would be amazing and turned out not to be quite what you wanted?
HMC: Oh yes, when I first started out, I had some real doozies! I tried to make shampoo once and my hair was horrible for days.
BC: Do you have a favorite Natural Grace product? What is it and why?
HMC: My Coffee Bean Latte Whipped Body Souffle is my current fave. It’s a super rich and emollient blend of coffee butter and walnut oil that firms and tones. It’s an overall perky tonic.
BC: If you could use only one skincare or body product for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
HMC: Lavender Chamomile Herbal Oil would be my desert island choice. I can use this both to cleanse and to moisturize if need be.
BC: What inspires you the most?
HMC: I am greatly inspired when I’m able to help someone with their skin problems. Seeing real results pumps me up!
BC: And finally: If you could have any celebrity, living or dead, use your stuff, who would you want it to be?
HMC: My first choice would be Martha Stewart, since she has such a major influence in the handmade arena.
