New Workout to Try: Angie Lee’s Knockout Body Workout
This intense cardio and strength training workout is the perfect way to get your body in shape for spring.
If stories like this depress you, it’s time to do something about it. You can have a bikini-worthy body come spring. You just need to get up and start moving.
One way to start is to try Angie Lee’s new Knockout Body Workout. As a group instructor and personal trainer at Reebok Sports Club and Equinox Fitness Clubs in New York City, Lee has used her past eight years of experience and love of kickboxing to develop a full-body cardio and strength training workout that can be done by anyone, anywhere.
“Knockout Body Workout targets the legs, hips, glutes, arms and core, while teaching coordination and focus due to the specificity of the movements,” says Lee. “It can burn anywhere from 500-800 calories an hour, while serving as a stress outlet. It’s also a fun way to diversify the cardio workouts and avoid the occasional treadmill or elliptical boredom, making it easier to stick to a workout program.”
Here, Lee shares with Betty four key moves from the workout that you can do right in your own home – no gym required. These moves should be done in a fast-paced manner, with as many reps as you can do in 60-90 seconds (with 30 seconds of rest in between or less). For more advanced exercisers, Lee suggests adding jumping jacks, burpees or jump rope in between the moves for added intensity.
