The Newest Real Housewife of Atlanta: “I Did a Lot of Crying”
Music producer Kandi Burruss reveals that filming her first season of the reality show was an emotional rollercoaster ride
Singer, songwriter, music producer Kandi Burruss is the newest member of the Real Housewives of Atlanta cast and while she didn’t flip tables like a New Jersey housewife, she did wear her heart on her sleeve as she filmed the new season of the show (which returns to Bravo on Thursday, July 30 at 10 p.m.).
The single mom of daughter Riley, 6, who is best known for writing the TLC hit “No Scrubs” reveals that she got emotional when discussing Riley’s baby daddy on the show.
“I’m iffy about my daughter seeing the part of the show when I talk about her father, and her not having a relationship with him,” Kandi says. “I try not to bring him up unless she brings him up. I hate to have her see me talking about that and seeing me cry.”
“I did a lot of cyring, unfortunately. There was always something that I would get emotional about. I hate when I cry in front of anyone and now millions of people will see that.”
But don’t get the impression that Kim is a big softie. She can throw down with the best of them.
“I had my moment with one of the girls when we bumped heads, but I wasn’t causing drama!” she confesses. “Towards the end of taping I had a moment with NeNe [Leakes] and that did get out of control.”
