Of Course Killers Was Bad
Surprise, surprise! Reviews of Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl’s latest movie are the opposite of good.
Katherine Heigl currently makes $15 million a film, making her the third highest-paid actress in Hollywood because she can “open a movie.” But even her movie-opening power, partnered with Ashton Kutcher’s charm, couldn’t save Killers.
The movie opened this weekend with horrible reviews in The New York Times, The New York Daily News, and the LA Times. These reviews said the movie is “brain-deadening,” “executed so poorly,” and is “an empty summer hodgepodge of stale romantic comedy exchanges, witlessness and lackluster action.”
E! Online, a fan of both Kutcher and Heigl, titled their review of the flick: “Killers as Funny as Getting Shot in the Head.”
Wow, it must have really been bad.
Perhaps all of these negative reviews stem from the fact that movie critics feel snubbed – they weren’t given advanced screenings of the film, so they had to go to the theaters when it opened this weekend just like everybody else. Oh, the horror!
But, box office numbers for this weekend prove Killers wasn’t a huge hit – it came in third with $16 million, behind Shrek Ever After (still on top) and Get Him to the Greek. Maybe Kutcher and Heigl should stay away from action comedies from now on. (Huffington Post)
Tell us: did you see Killers this weekend? If you didn’t, do you still want to see it?
