On New Year’s Eve, Watch Snooki’s Ball Drop at the Jersey Shore
Yes, you can watch Snooki descend from the sky in a giant hamster ball as MTV rings in the New Year.
Who cares about the official New Year’s Eve ball in Times Square? That’s so 2010. The new way to ring in the New Year is happening in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, where MTV is getting ready for the “Snooki Ball Drop.”
Yes, the pint-sized star from the Jersey Shore will be descending from the sky in her own giant “hamster ball,” complete with a light-up sign bearing her name. The ball drop is currently being constructed near the original Jersey Shore house, where the cast first started throwing punches and GTL-ed their tanned hearts out.
Originally, the plan was to have the Snooki ball drop in Times Square, but once officials found out, MTV and Snooki were swiftly banned from the area on New Year’s Eve.
We think Seaside is a much more appropriate setting for this stunt, anyways. Snooki is worried that the ball drop will turn her into “a friggin’ hamster!”, but we think she’ll enter 2011 just fine… hopefully, with a new pair of Snooki Slippers on (oh yes, there’s a website and everything). (TMZ)
