Own a Piece of Old Hollywood: Judy Garland’s House Is For Sale
Judy Garland’s Stone Canyon Road residence is hitting the market this week. Pictures inside!
Hot on the heels (no pun intended) of Dorothy’s ruby slippers finding a new home comes more Wizard of Oz-related news. Have you ever wanted to live in a home with a storied Hollywood history? Because now you can: A red brick home in Bel-Air once owned by Judy Garland is on sale. It may not be over the rainbow, but it’s good enough for us!
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the five-bedroom house, known as the Stone Canyon Road residence, is being sold by philanthropist Stephanie Booth Murray for $7.1 million (got some money to burn?). Murray acquired it in February of last year and subsequently renovated it. It was originally built by Southern California architect Wallace Neff specially for Judy in 1938—the same year she was cast as Dorothy. The listing will hit sometime this week, said agent Hugh Evans of Partners Trust brokerage.
The house covers 5,513 square feet and includes a swimming pool, cabanas, and a writers’ cabin in the backyard. Here, take a peek!

And some kind of adorable little sitting nook thing:
Pretty cozy for a celebrity home, isn’t it? Then again, we’re talking old Hollywood here, not the newfangled, out-of-control Hollywood that exists today. Would you live here? We sure would!
