Prince William to the Rescue! The Duke of Cambridge Saves Girl from Drowning
Damsels in distress, have no fear: Prince William is here!
There can be no denying that Prince William plays the role of knight in shining armor quite well— especially in light of this epic tale: The Duke of Cambridge is a hero after piloting the helicopter that saved a 16-year-old girl from drowning off the coast of Wales.
According to CNN, two friends had been bodysurfing when they were caught in a strong riptide. A surfer saved the younger of the two girls; the older friend’s situation, however, was a bit direr.
Lucky for her, though, it only took the Royal Air Force—with Prince William at the helm—38 seconds to respond to the distress call, making it one of the fastest responses ever conducted by the RAF Valley. Arriving in the nick of time, the girl had just gone under the water when the RAF team showed up to assist her. Both girls were then flown to a hospital in Bangor, north Wales.
A slew of tweets from fans have surfaced on Twitter since the incident,
“Prince William rescued a drowning teenager in a helicopter rescue off the coast of Wales. Your move, Ryan Gosling,” one admirer wrote.
“I LOVE this Prince & he can SAVE me anyday>:)…” said another.
We don’t know about you, Bettys, but we’ll take Prince William over Prince Charming any day!
