4. Colombiana (2011): Cataleya vs. Marco
As one big cliché wrapped up in a pretty package, we’re not expecting this movie to make cinema history —but this bathroom fight scene between Cateleya (Zoe Saldana) and Marco (Jordi Mollà) is a definite gem in a sea of bland. And the hand-to-hand combat just made it all the more memorable!
5. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004): Hermione Granger Punches Draco Malfoy
This probably counts as one of the most epic moments of my childhood as a Harry Potter nerd. As we all know, Draco (Tom Felton) totally had this one coming; and even better, what Hermione (Emma Watson, of course!) tells him right before her fist greets his face is almost as priceless as Mrs. Weasley’s (Julie Walters) “NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!” in Deathly Hallows Part 2. This just goes to show you that child geniuses can pack a punch in multiple departments. Ouch!
6. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003): Éowyn vs. The Witch-King
This gutsy gal (Miranda Otto) disguised herself as a man to go to battle and defeat the terrifyingly evil Witch-King of Angmar. Well, at least he was right about one thing. Remember when he told her that “no living man” could possibly kill him? News flash: Eowyn ain’t no man.
7. Kill Bill Volume 1 (2003): O-Ren Ishii vs. Beatrix Kiddo aka The Bride
As far as swordfights go, Kill Bill has more than enough to make your head spin —and Beatrix Kiddo (Uma Thurman) triumphs in them all. Here’s the famed battle between Kiddo and O-Ren Ishii (Lucy Liu), also known as the “Queen of Tokyo’s underworld.” The Bride may have the advantage of having a Hanz? sword, but she’s also a pro at wielding it.
