What’s for Dinner?
This is a great brunch meal – you can easily double or triple it for a large group; or keep it as is, and feed a small group. I’ve even had this for dinner, and it’s great – also perfect to assemble the night before and then put in the fridge until morning. Then all you have to do is bake! You can find this recipe in the Woman’s Day Cookbook.
French or Italian bread cut into 1/2 inch slices
4 oz ham
cheese (1/2 – 1 c depending on how much you like cheese)
1 c. milk
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Lightly grease 1 1/2 qt. baking dish. Put mustard on one side of all the slices of bread. Arrange half of the bread slices on the bottom of pan. Layer ham and cheese on top. Arrange remainder of the bread on top, mustard side down. Press down slightly. Combine milk & eggs and mix thoroughly with whisk. Pour over entire dish.
3. Bake 40 – 45 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes and enjoy!
