Remember That Time Kim Kardashian Wore a Georgia O'Keeffe Painting as a Dress?

From the vaults: Is it just us, or does this Stephane Rolland dress of Kim Kardashian's look an awful lot like one of Georgia O'Keeffe's famous flower paintings?

Kim Kardashian Stephane Rolland

Full disclosure: This photo is a few months old, having originally been taken in July during Paris Fashion Week. Somehow, though, I managed to miss it the first time around, and honestly, I’m not entirely sure how that happened. Because LOOK AT IT.

Anyway, my point is that I would like to bring this delightful monstrosity to your attention in the event that you missed it as well. It’s just too good to pass up. The dress is a Stephane Rolland creation, and Kim Kardashian wore it to Stephane’s Paris Fashion Week show. It has a neat-o asymmetrical hem and it flutters nicely about her shapely and toned calves—but the most important point about it is this: Is it just me, or does she look like she’s wearing a Georgia O’Keeffe painting?

I’ll confess that I find haute couture more interest as pieces of art than as actual clothing. Most of the doodads and wacky embellishments attached to couture gowns and whatnot not only have no functional purpose, but moreover, actually impede your ability to walk, move, see, and so on; and as such, I can’t understand why anyone would want to wear it. However, I still appreciate them as pieces of art. They may not have a function, per se (though that’s not to say that art is always non-functional), but they’re neat to look at in the same way a Picasso or a Renoir is.

Or, in this case, a Georgia O’Keeffe. Yes, that IS meant to be a gigantic flower blossom attached to Kim’s left shoulder, and yes, it DOES closely resemble a specific part of a woman’s anatomy, just like the fabulous flower paintings O’Keeffe is known for. I give you Exhibit A:

Georgia OKeeffe Blue and Green Music

This painting is called “Blue and Green Music,” and O’Keeffe painted it in 1921. The colors aren’t quite the same, but structurally it and the dress look pretty alike, no?

Anyway, I just thought I’d draw this to your attention , because it is clearly something you need to know about. Mostly, I’m just trying to figure out how those oversized ladybits decided upon Kim as their attack victim. What do you think, Bettys?

Just love it!! Kim is looking beautiful wearing that Georgia O'Keeffe and I'm so excited to try it on. Although I must say Kim is a kind of girl who suit any type dress.
