Usually, I’m one of those “wash my hair every day” people. Between washes, my locks tend to get oily and messy– but not in that sexy, touseled sort of way, thus making daily washes a necessity. However, I’ve been hearing a lot lately about these snazzy new dry shampoos and the wonders they can work on second-day hair, so I was thrilled when one ended up in our mailbox: TIGI’s new Catwalk Session Series’ Transforming Dry Shampoo ($20.99, tigihaircare.com).

The Catwalk Sessions Series is a brand-new line from TIGI (makers of Bed Head), and it’s their most sophisticated line yet. All of the products in it are designed with professional stylists in mind– they were a big hit at Fashion Week!– but they’re also straight-forward enough for us normal people to use every day. The Transforming Dry Shampoo claims to refresh as well as add volume and texture to second-day hair. It’s also got less powder in it than most dry shampoos, making it both more lightweight and less visible. Sounds good, doesn’t it? Let’s test this baby out!

The instructions are simple: Shake well and spray all over. So, I did just that. And you know what? It works! I still needed to hit the top layers with a flat iron to neaten everything up a little, but the dry shampoo absorbed all the excess oil that had accumulated in my hair and gave it a great finish. In just a few seconds, my day-old tresses were all ready to face another day.

Finally, second-day hair that I don’t have to wear a hat over! And there was much rejoicing. Yay!

I love dry shampoos! They’re life-savers, but I have a peeve-they don’t last long. One can I used had only 3 applications in it! Others aren’t much better and I swear I’m not using too much.
