Road Test: Peter Thomas Roth Laser-Free Resurfacer
This product created madness in the stores when it was launched!
Like you, I’m always looking for effective skin care. Especially anti-aging skin care. I want to keep the wrinkly-pruney look so far in my future that it’ll be someone else’s problem.
So, when the Peter Thomas Roth Laser-Free Resurfacer ($75, sephora.com) launched, I, like a dozen other beauty and style editors, went bonkers trying to get a bottle of it.
What is it? It’s serum that contains Dragon’s Blood from the Amazon Croton Lechleri tree. They get the sap much in the same way maple syrup is gathered. It’s tapped into a container.
Dragon’s Blood (doesn’t that sound exotic?) hsa been proven to accelerate skin damage repair. It’s an anti-aging, skin brightening, texture improving product. You’re supposed to see results in about four weeks.
I have been using it on and off for two weeks now. There are some days or nights I forget to put it on. It’s a red colored serum that is absorbed really quickly into your skin. The red color doesn’t stay, so you don’t look clown-like. I love the fact that I can slather it on my face and in a few seconds later, slap on base, blush, etc.
I have noticed that my skin tone is evening out. I have had friends tell me my skin looks better and I look “rested.” One of them noticed the difference in a badly lit dive bar. If someone can tell your skin looks really good in a dim bar, I’m gonna keep using this!
The only negative side effect I ‘ve had is some minor irritation on the skin of my neck. Then again, if you look at my neck funny, I’ll get hives.
