Scandal: Condom On Statue Causes Controversy
A tribute to the creator of latex condoms is deemed inappropriate.
What better way to honor the inventor of latex condoms than topping an ancient phallic statue with a rubber? Well, officials did not find the tribute to Julius Fromm fitting, and ordered it taken off. The condom was made out of a giant plastic bag and slipped over a column statue that is known locally in Kronin, Poland as “the penis.”
A local sex therapist is now advocating that Konin build a memorial to Fromm. “The town should be proud of him. There is nothing to be ashamed of,” he told a Polish TV reporter. (Newser)
