Self Doubt: Lazy Girl Trains For a Half Marathon (Week 10 of 22)
In which I update on my progress (or lack thereof) and try to give myself a pep talk.
-April Daniels Hussar
I signed up with Team in Training to train for the Nike Women’s Half Marathon in San Francisco on October 16, 2011. That means I need to be able to both run 13.1 miles in a row (ack!!) AND raise at least $3,200 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Read my last training update here.
Well. I’ve been at this for over two months. Which, on one hand, is really impressive to me. I’ve never stuck with something like this for this long. Yay, me!
On the other hand, I’m way behind the handy-dandy training schedule that Team in Training has provided me — I’m supposed to be up to nine miles for my “long runs” and so far I’m only up to four. I’m really having a hard time imagining myself making it for eight or nine miles, let alone 13!
Am I going to be able to do this?
Not to mention the fundraising aspect, which I haven’t even really started.
I need some motivation and a pep-talk. Maybe a little recap of my training so far will inspire me. Here are some highlights (because no, I haven’t had time to do a weekly report like I originally planned)…

Running and Logging My Runs on DailyMile.com:
Wow! 66 miles in 2011 — and that’s pretty much all from the last two months. That’s like a zillion miles in April-miles!
Ok, well, I’m a little more inspired. I’m just going to keep on keepin’ on. I’m not ready to quit!
13.1 miles by October 16, 2011.
You think I can do it?
