AND the rest of us “smart Bettys” know that it was only the THOUGHT of having all things Missoni that made us regress to barbarian behavior to obtain same. The great alternatives that you so graciously offered us do not meet the status criteria that the genuine Missoni articles would.
But we ADORE you for your efforts!
I remember modeling Missoni at “Needless Mark-up” in the 70′s and wondering why in the hell anyone would want that zig-zag zeitgeist print on one’s body! (Or maybe I just thought I did???)
I have to admit, my dear Diana, that my 30 year old son presented me with photos from his Mimi’s house, wherein I was adorned with those wavy threads in blouses, jeans, hats, and ponchos. Mea Culpa………Lord, how age does cloud an otherwise eidetic memory.
And kudos to you youngsters who stood in line for hours at Target to purchase them!
I also have to say that I LOVED every single one of those garments………and I am a tad bit sorrowful that, at my age of 57, I was too lazy to even try..
    LOVE MY BETTY GIRLS!!!
    XOXO from Texas!
