BC: Have you ever had any happy accidents? Has ever had something seemingly go horribly wrong, only to have it turn out to lead to something amazing?
SK: You know, every day there are at least 100 things that go wrong. This staff, this amazing staff, juggles tons of things, tasks, and has to refocus on things every other minute. I can’t remember what I had for breakfast this morning, but I’m quite certain something happened this week that turned into some kind of great occurrence or benefit… not because it “just happened,” but because we here MADE it happen. We make a daily choice for success and positivity, no matter what the challenges are that we face. We make it work! And that is what you have to do to be a winner in anything: Have a goal, know it is NEVER going to go the way you plan, and readjust all the time—acting ever the champion you are, as my teacher would say to me!
BC: What’s your personal skincare routine like? Have any tips to share?
SK: Cleanse: Sukiface Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser, alternating with the Creamy Foaming Cleanser.
Tone: Sukiface Concentrated Balancing Toner
Moisturize: Sukiface Pure Facial Moisturizer to balance all over, and Facial List Ultimate Firming Cream for dry spots and where my character lines are beginning to show.
Masque: Sukiface Transformative Cleansing Clay for any inflammation or blemishing.
I also apply a dab of Sukiface Eye Repair Balm or Eye Lift Renewal Cream each morning, followed by just a touch of Sukicolor Correct Coverage Concealer.
For makeup I use Anastasia Cosmetics brow pencil for touchups, as well as Tarina Tarantino’s eye liner/highlighter in this frosty pink color that makes me look like I actually slept the night before! I also use Logona double-sided lip pencil and Sukiface Lip Repair Butter.
BC: Time for a few favorites! What’s your favorite color? Blue (it used to be red, but I’ve actually mellowed over time!)
Scent? I LOVE personal fragrances! Since the natural skincare industry has grown, the natural fragrance industry has grown along with it—which helps feed addictions like mine! One of my favorite candles is the Archipelago soy candles, which I burn constantly in my house. I love their Havana candle as well as the Stonehenge ones—they uplift my mood the second I light them.
Season of the year? Fall. I have always loved the crisp air, the layered, rich colored clothing, and the freshness of feeling fall gives. It’s also so beautiful in New England in the fall—the only problem is having to close down the pool. Although I so have to admit, my favorite fall activity is driving with the top down and singing at the top of my lungs to loud music of all kinds!
BC: If you could have any celeb use Suki Skin Care’s products, who would it be and why?
SK: You know, this is really an impossible question to answer, and it changes all the time. Every day I see incredible people doing unbelievable things. But, I guess for now, I’ll focus on a celeb who I adore: Meryl Streep. Every time she speaks, I feel inspired. She seems so evolved, so enlighten , so connected, and so real. I love that she looks so beautiful as HERSELF, an older woman who has has allowed herself to age naturally. I think it’s important for people to see that, especially when facial surgery is on such an upswing.
Even better, she doesn’t focus so entirely on her looks, which I think tends to make one focus on other, more important things as we get older: Other people, compassion, empathy, helping other people, and so on. Allow your true beauty and realness to shine through!
