Whether you identify as a Twi-hard or not, the third leg of the Twilight Saga was one of this year’s must-sees. Bella had a big decision to make in Eclipse. The lucky mortal had to choose between her love for Edward the vamp and her friendship with Jacob the werewolf. In all fairness, choosing between Rob Pattinson’s hair and Taylor Launter’s abs must have been tough!
8. The Switch
So what if Jennifer Aniston’s roles are all strikingly similar? She has perfected the part of funny, likeable woman and we love her for it. The Switch was no exception to the rule. Jen played Kassie, an unmarried 40-year old who decided to have a child via artificial insemination. Enter her best friend Wally, who was madly but secretly in love with her. When he got drunk and replaced the donor’s sperm with his own, we kicked back for a refreshingly non-cliché rom-com with very little sap.
9. Love and Other Drugs
What’s not to love about a good tearjerker? Especially one with hot sex scenes between the gorgeous Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal. We admired how even through tough times, Maggie (Hathaway) and Jamie’s (Gyllenhaal) relationship grew to be so passionate. Another plus; you get to stare into Jake’s baby blues for an entire 112 minutes.
10. Letters to Juliet
Letters to Juliet brought out the hopeless romantic in all of us. Hollywood’s sweetie, Amanda Seyfried, was the epitome of her character Sophie. When Sophie found a 50-year-old love letter while sightseeing in Verona, she set out on a quest to find answers. The scenic Tuscan setting had us ready to hop on the first plane to Italy.
This may sound crazy, but here is a movie had nothing to do with sex. Instead, it painted a picture of the timelessness of true love.
