NAACP Image Awards Red Carpet Style: The Good, The Bad and the Boring
The chic, the disastrous and the amazingly dull award show gowns.
The 42nd NAACP Image Awards, held on March 4 in LA, were hosted by Wayne Brady and Holly Robinson Peete. The event honors achievements of people of color in the arts and those in the arts who fight against social injustice. The event brought out the big guns — literally: General Colin Powell was honored with the President’s Award for his accomplishments in the public sector.
In entertainment: Actor David Mann won an Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series (Tyler Perry’s House of Payne). Vanessa Williams won an Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series (Desperate Housewives). Sofia Vergara won an Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in A Comedy Series (Modern Family). Halle Berry won Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture (Frankie & Alice). Willow Smith won The Outstanding New Artist Award (recording).
Enough of the awards! Let’s get to the good stuff … red carpet style! Who wore it best, who wore it worst and who made us snore.
THE GOOD …
Halle Berry looked amazing in this belly button baring Pucci gown. Those Bavna earrings she’s wearing are also very covetous. Hard to believe she’s 44 years old. All who agree that 40 is the new 20 say “aye!”
