The Apple Cin: A New Cocktail to Toast This Season (Or Your Weekend)!
Born at the famous New York City Barclay Bar, you can try this tasty cocktail at home.
Cosmos are so yesterday! Toast the chilly fall weather (and beyond) with this perfectly tasty cocktail: The Apple Cin. It was created by famed mixologist (that’s bartender to you and I), Jose Torrella of the Barcaly Bar at the chic and sophisticated InterContinental New York Barclay.
The drink combines the yumminess of apples, pomegranates and cranberries. You could drink this all winter long!
Here’s the recipe:
Van Gogh Wild Appel Vodka
Fresh Apple Juice
Simple Syrup (equal parts water and sugar boiled and chilled)
Fresh Squeezed Lemon
Cranberry (alternately can use apple chunks)
Mix clear gelatin with water according to directions on box (for an extra kick, infuse the gelatin with Van Gogh Wild Appel Vodka the night before!)
Place cranberry in bottom of Martini Glass
Rim Martini glass with cinnamon and sugar mixture
Chill – should sit overnight to ensure everything has time to gel completely.
2 oz Van Gogh Wild Appel Vodka
1 oz fresh apple juice
1/2 oz Grand Marnier
1/2 oz Simple Sugar
1/2 oz Fresh squeezed lemon
1/4 oz or splash of pomegranate juice
Shake all ingredients but the pomegranate juice and pour into prepared glass. Pour pomegranate juice slowly down the side of the cocktail glass, let settle. Garnish with apple slice and serve.
