“You know, you can’t really train to jump off a building,” Angelina Jolie advises. “You can’t learn how to hang that high in the sky. You just go.”

She waits as you make mental notes of this solid life advice.

“I did have a moment where I thought about my life,” she says. “I had the babies about a year before filming and then I took 12 months off. This action scene was part of my big return. I was hanging off that ledge thinking, ‘What am I doing up here? I’m someone’s mother!’”

In Salt, Mama Jolie plays a CIA agent who is accused by a Russian operative of being one of them. Is she a spy or just misunderstood? Either way, Salt must go on the run where she smacks into an assassination plot against the leader of the Soviet Union, a nuke situation and holds the life of the president of the United States in her slim hands.

Does Brad mind when you hang your body off skyscrapers and jump off highways onto moving trucks. Does he get worried?
I met Brad when we were doing stunts together. We’re that family that likes a challenge. It’s expected that Mom goes out and jumps onto the top of trucks and beats up four guys at a time. That’s just a day at work.

Do you ever think maybe you should cool it?
You know, you can’t really train to jump off a building like I did in my new movie. You can’t learn how to hang that high in the sky. You just go. I did have a moment where I thought about my life, I had the babies about a year before filming and then I took 12 months off. This action scene was part of my big return. I was hanging off that ledge thinking, “What am I doing up here? I’m someone’s mother!”

How do you and Brad have sexy alone time together with six kids?
We have to schedule the time. But it’s worth it.

Is it true you were offered a Bond girl role and turned it down?
Amy Pascal
of Sony had me in for lunch and offered me a role as a Bond girl. I jokingly said, “No thanks to the Bond girl, but I do want to play Bond.” About a year later, Amy called and said, “I think I found your Bond. His name is Edwin.” I said, “Sounds sexy. Hand it over.”

Wasn’t the role originally for Tom Cruise and you helped turn it into a female character?
I made the character lighter and more loving. In the original script, the big climax was for Edwin to be able to say “I love you” to his family. I knew as a woman that would never be a big revelation. I love my family. I say “I love you” so easily and many times a day. That comes easy for women.

  13. amercianmom says:

Sorry still don’t like her and cant wait till the Morton book comes out. Maybe if she had close girlfriends she wouldn’t be so cavalier about taking a husband from another woman.

  14. beach princess says:

Aren’t we all just over them. Angelina is just a little too creepy (the freaky, a-moral beauty but kind philanthropist). Brad is the real loser that got away with everything. It’d be nice to not see them on the cover of a magazine at the grocery check-out even for a week. I think you’d hear the world take a collective sigh of relief! :)
