Charlie Chaplin

Here’s something spooky to consider right before Halloween! In this YouTube clip taken from a DVD extra of Charlie Chaplin’s The Circus, filmed in 1928, there seems to be a woman talking on a cell phone!

Some are arguing she’s just using a hearing aid, which was as large as a cell phone at the  time. But, as you watch the video and see it in slow motion, she looks to be talking into it. Who talks into a hearing aid? Maybe she’s saying “testing, testing, 1, 2, 3,” or “I’m stuck in 1928! Get me out of here!” (People, Newser)

Tell us: what theory do you believe: is she a time traveler or simply just using a hearing aid?
