A safe found in the home of a murdered Florida couple known for adopting special-needs children contained about $100,000, a source has told CNN. It is believed that the suspects in the slaying of Byrd and Melanie Billings thought the safe contained a stack of valuables but were unable to get into it. They took another safe, containing prescription medication, documents and some jewelry, instead.
On Monday, it was revealed that the man believed to be the ringleader of the attack knew the victims and received financial support from them for a martial arts studio he ran. (CNN)
