Eunice Kennedy Shriver dies

Eunice Kennedy ShriverEunice Kennedy Shriver, the sister of President John F. Kennedy and founder of the Special Olympics died today. She was 88.

She leaves behind her husband, R. Sargeant Shriver, 5 children, and 19 grandchildren, who were all present with her when she passed away.

“We are tremendously grateful for the extreme outpouring of support and prayer from the public as we honor our beloved founder,” said Special Olympics President and Chief Operation Officer Brady Lum in a statement.

“Today we celebrate the life of a woman who had the vision to create our movement. It is an enormous loss, but I know we can rest assured that her legacy will live on through her family, friends, and the millions of people around the world who she touched and transformed.” (CNN)

  1. LOL — go Hillary! How annoying that must have been to send Bill to bring Euna and Laura home — when surely she had been working behind the scenes to make it happen.

  2. So sad for Maria Shriver who was SO close to her mother. Eunice was always incredibly supportive of everything Maria did, and showed up at events even when she was injured.

  3. RIP Eunice but what she started is a such a great remembrance of her kindness.

    And I agree Hillary had a right to be a bit angry

    And if you had a $300,000 estate why are you on the streets?

  4. Will people ever respect Hillary Clinton? She definitely deserves it

    And it just goes to show you can’t treat every homeless person you see so cruel. Sometime, they’re not destitute at all.
