Michael Jackson laid to rest
Two months after his death, Michael Jackson was finally laid to rest last night at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, Calif., near the graves of Hollywood legends Clark Gable, Jean Harlow and Nat King Cole.
Unlike the over the top memorial service and tribute concert held back in July, Jackson’s funeral was a much smaller and somber affair. Among the 200 mourners were close friends Elizabeth Taylor, Macaulay Culkin with girlfriend Mila Kunis, Stevie Wonder, Jackson’s ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley, Chris Tucker, and Rev. Al Sharpton, who live-tweeted the event.
Jackson’s brothers and two young sons all wore black suits with red ties, purple armbands, and one sequined glove and listened in the front row as Gladys Knight sang the gospel hymn “His Eye is on the Sparrow.” (TIME)
