Video: Designer John Galliano Says He Loves Hitler!
A new video has surfaced backing the claims of the couple he allegedly attacked.
The fashion world was stunned when news broke last Thursday, February 24, that Dior’s designer, John Galliano was involved in an altercation at La Perle, a bistro in Paris with a couple. Geraldine Bloch and Phillippe Virgiti were sitting at an outside table drinking wine, when Galliano sat next to them and attempted to engage them in conversation.
Galliano was allegedly drunk and according to some witnesses at the scene, merely insulted the woman’s purse. Other witnessses claimed Galliano spit out racist slurs.
After the incident, Galliano willingly went to the police station to file a complaint against the couple, who told witnesses that they orginally thought the head of Dior was a homeless person.
Upon hearing of the altercation, LVMH which owns the house of Dior immediately suspended Galliano pending investigation. Under French Law, anyone who is found guilty of making anti-semitic remarks is fined 45,000 euros ($61,884).
A video of Galliano stating the he “loves Hitler” after a woman asked him if he was blond, was published in British newspaper, The Sun online.
The video contains strong language. It appears that Galliano is inebriated and what he said can shock a viewer.
No word yet on whether further charges have been filed against John Galliano or whether his fashion show, slated for Paris Fashion Week will continue.
