Video: Douglas Hannant Resort 2012 Fashion Show
Red, white and blue fashion never looked so chic!
It was a beautiful dichotomy: exquisitely crafted clothing floating down the flight deck of the USS Intrepid. Yesterday, as the sun’s heat was slowly melting away, Douglas Hannant showed his Resort 2012 collection.
The collection’s color palette was based on the American flag with burst of shocking orange, Kelly green, pale orange and silver. Bias cut gowns shared the runway with slim fitting suits, a cropped silver moto jacket and white fisherman knit shorts. Classic patterns like plaid and polka dots were served up with a modern, sexy twist.
The workmanship alone on sequined jackets, feather-trimmed dresses and on a glorious blue and white ostrich trimmed gown that to me, looked like a baby Infanta gown. A sleekly cut red capelet suit with exposed zippers was just one of the ensembles that captured everyone’s attention. Socialites and celebrities like Olivia Palermo, Cee Cee Cord, Jamee Gregory and Glee’s Naya Rivera wear his sensous designs at red carpet events.
Models wore over-sized sailor hats that perched cheekily on their heads. There so many standout looks, that my companion is probably bruised today from me smacking his arm every time I saw another creation appear.
