We all know that cigarettes kill – plain and simple. They are the fast track to a premature death, and one that will not be swift or pleasant. Knowing this, it’s the parents’ responsibility to warn their children about the deadly affects of smoking. But for some reason, Mohammad Rizal feels he is exempt from this obligation.

In fact, he gave his son, Ardi, his first cigarette when he was just 18-months old. Now, as a two-year-old living in Musi Banyuasin, Indonesia, Ardi now smokes 40. Cigarettes. A. Day.

Again, 40 cigarettes a day – that is two full packs. We’ll be surprised if this child makes it past the age of 6.

“He looks pretty healthy to me. I don’t see the problem,” Mohommad told The Sun, proving he may be the world’s worst father.

Meanwhile, Ardi’s mother, Diana, cried to reporters, “He’s totally addicted. If he doesn’t get cigarettes, he gets angry and screams and batters his head against the wall. He tells me he feels dizzy and sick.”

According to dlisted, the Indonesian government has offered Mohommad a brand new car if he can get his son to quit smoking. For the poor boy’s sake, we hope he takes it.

And just to prove that no, we aren’t making this up, here’s a video of Ardi puffing on a cig and not a pacifier. It breaks our heart. (The Sun, dlisted)

Tell us: do you think Ardi’s father should be punished for introducing his son to smoking?

  1. charges should be filed for endangering the welfare of a minor and the child should be removed – the Mother cried to reporters? Knock off the crying! – do something!!! – take that child to a doctor and get him some withdrawal help and then kick that sorry, lazy excuse for a father to the curb –

  2. It’s very different in other parts of the world. I was in Asia for just under a year and I saw 7 year olds who worked full time jobs right along side grown men, they smoked too. I sounds bizarre and of course what kind of person would give a toddler a cigarette but when big restrictions on American tobacco growers and the big push in the US to stop smoking the companies went overseas. Marlboro was the cigarette of choice – for the adults and the kids.

Very sad, but not unusual sadly. 3rd world countries are so different from us, you need to see it to understand how they crave all things American, sometimes it’s the worst we have to offer.
