What Should Oksana Do Now?
We consulted an expert on what the allegedly abused babymama’s next move should be.
On the heels of the Sheriff’s department announcing they would be investigating Mel Gibson for a possible domestic violence incident involving his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, it looks like the mother of 8-month-old Lucia has some tough decisions to make. Mel’s verbal tirade where he told his ex she “f**king deserved” to be hit caused outrage among anti-domestic violence groups who labeled the actor “a typical abuser.”
We consulted Los Angeles based psychologist Dr. Morris Halperin on what he would advise Oksana, who he does not treat, to do next. “She needs to just focus on being the best parent she can be,” Dr. Halperin says. “It is better for a child to grow up with one good parent then none at all.”
Dr. Halperin predicts that Mel’s violent behavior will be a factor during custody and child support hearings. “Based on his actions, a judge would obviously be slanted against him when considering what is the best living arrangement for the child. He will have to come up with child support whether he likes it or not.”
Stay strong, Oksana! Your baby needs you!
