Why Mel Gibson Got Fired
Mad Mel just can’t get it right!
-Kathryn H. Cusimano
Over the past few years, we’ve watched Mel Gibson go from beloved movie star to crazed, violent bigot as his personal life fell apart on the world’s stage. Director Todd Phillips wanted to give Gibson another chance to redeem himself with a role in The Hangover 2, but Mel managed to blow it.
“I thought Mel would have been great in the movie,” Phillips said. “But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew.”
Gibson may have ticked off one star in particular – our lover (in our dreams) Zach Galifianakis!
“I’m in a deep protest right now with a movie I’m working on, up in arms about something,” Galifianakis said on the Comedy Death-Ray podcast. “But I can’t get the guys to listen. It’s very frustrating.”
Well, that’s the last straw. If Zach Galifianakis isn’t happy, no one’s happy. And we can’t have that! (Newser)
