Will Ferrell Sings of the Plight of the Mexican Rancher in “Yo No Se”
Will Ferrell and Funny or Die have teamed up (again) to bring you “Yo No Se,” a music video promoting Will’s new movie Casa de Mi Padre. Watch it here!
Whenever Will Ferrell teams up with Funny or Die, magical things happen. Who could ever forget the tiny terror that is Pearl, a.k.a “The Landlord?” Pure comedic gold.
It probably shouldn’t come as surprise, then, that they’ve done it again. It’s a music video—and it’s entirely in Spanish.
Spanish? Neat-o, but why? Excellent question! You see, Will Ferrell’s next film is a Spanish-language comedy called Casa de Mi Padre (or, in English, My Father’s House). Co-starring Gael Garcai Bernal, Diego Luna, and Genesis Rodriguez, Casa de Mi Padre spoofs overly dramatic telenovelas and tells the story of Armando Alavarez (Will, of course) as he goes to his father’s rescue to save the family ranch from a powerful drug lord.
The film actually comes out quite soon—March 16, as a matter of fact—so it’s kind of surprising that there hasn’t been more advertising for it (then again, maybe I just live under a rock and missed it). But the viral route has worked well for Will in the past, so maybe that’s what they’re going for this time with this little gem, “Yo No Se” (or, “I Don’t Know”). The song is pretty catchy, too. Want to know what the life of a rancher is like according to Will Ferrell? Here you go. He also plays a mean trumpet. Just sayin’.
