Will Your New Year’s Eve Kiss Rock Or Suck?
Making out is a science!
New Year’s Eve is all about the kiss! Many think that where you are at midnight and who you are smooching says a lot about what is in store for you in the upcoming year. Well, people, this kissing nonsense is actually based on scientific facts!
“A long open-mouthed exchange allows us to sample another person’s taste, which can reveal clues about his or her health and fertility,” says research scientist Sheril Kirshenbaum. Oh really?!
“Our tongues—covered with little bumps called papillae that feature our 9,000 to 10,000 taste buds—are ideally designed to gather such information,” Sheril says. And because kissing requires close proximity, “our noses can detect valuable information about another person’s health and perhaps even his or her DNA.”
Careful when you pucker up, you may be learning more than just how his tonsil hockey skills are!
