William and Kate’s Royal Puppy’s Name Revealed!
Prince William and Kate Middleton’s new puppy has a name! Aren’t you curious what it is?
So remember when William and Kate got a puppy back in December? If you do, you’ll recall though we had some adorable pictures of the little cocker spaniel, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were keeping their new pet’s name under wraps. But now the name has emerged, and we think it’s just as cute as the puppy himself. Ready? Drumroll, please…
According to People, Kate let the name slip on Tuesday during a visit to The Art Room, one of the four charities of which she is a patron. When she joined a group of schoolchildren for a watercolor lesson, a little boy handed her a stuffed toy dog. She asked the boy if the dog had a name, but when he said no, she suggested to him that he name it after her own four-month-old puppy: Lupo.
So where did the name come from? A royal source told People that it’s a play on the Latin word for “wolf,” which is “lupus” (we’ll refrain from making any House jokes). That, and William and Kate just kind of like the name. Works for us!
Kate, by the way, is apparently great with kids. Said Art Room manager Lisa Hancock, “She seemed to have as much fun as the children. She had all the right language and was very calm and gentle.”
I wonder if Kate would consider bringing Lupo in for a visit? We’re sure the children would love it!
