Would You Buy An “I’m Sorry You Lost Your Job Card?”
Hallmark is introducing six new cards. Are these tacky or helpful to the unemployed?
Your BFF loses her job. You take her out for a drink or three. You give her job leads and a shoulder to cry on. And now Hallmark, the company that claims they want you to “send the very best,” has trotted out a new line of cards designed to alleviate her woes with a card. With unemployment at 9 percent nationwide, these cards may be put to use.
Cards range from serious to humorous notes designed to make the receiver smile. Inside the above card, it says, “How about, I’m buying!” ($3.49, hallmark.com).
Or would you buy this one? Flip it open and you’ll read, “It has to get better. It just has to.” ($3.49, hallmark.com).
The cards aren’t yet available at Hallmark’s 40,000 locations nationwide, but you can purchase them online for $3.49. If you buy in bulk, the price goes down.
Tell us: Would you buy a “I’m sorry you lost your job card,” or would you pass on it?
