Z100’s Trey Morgan’s 30 Deeds in 30 Days
The radio host chats with BettyConfidential about his mission to help a lot of people in a little time.
Meet the disc jockey that is sacrificing all his time this month to help others, Trey Morgan. Best known in New York as “the voice of now” on Z100, Trey has been on a mission to donate his time to one charity a day for 30 days in his effort aptly named, 30 Deeds in 30 Days.
He’s brought on celebrity pals from Selena Gomez to Ne-Yo to Dr. Oz to get his community served. Trey couldn’t decide which charity to help, so he’s helping them all. And when it’s all over the real work will have just begun. After nearly a month of groundwork, Trey will continue to fight for the needy long after this project concludes.
Sometimes it only takes one person to make a difference. But just imagine the brightness of a future where all of us were a little more like Trey Morgan?
Tell us about 30 Deeds in 30 Days.
30 Deeds in 30 Days is my effort to volunteer for a different charity every single day for 30 consecutive days in the month of September. From Habitat for Humanity to Musicians on Call, to American Cancer Society, I’m covering all aspects of volunteer work.
How did you come up with the idea?
I’ve always wanted to volunteer, but have felt kind of overwhelmed by the amount of choices. Who doesn’t want to help the homeless? Who doesn’t want to feed starving children? Who doesn’t want to shelter abused animals? How do you pick just one charity that you really care about? So I decided let’s do them all! And to avoid procrastinating, I decided to give myself a challenge by saying, “Alright, you’ve got 30 days to do as many as you can.” And by the end of it, I hope to have a better understanding of which organization I would like to donate the majority of my volunteer time to.
