I don’t know about you, Bettys, but there’s something about a new lip color that makes me feel like the proverbial million bucks. That’s why I was so excited when Susan Posnick Cosmetics’ six brand-spanking-new COLORESSENTIALS lipstick shades ($19, susanposnick.com) landed in our mailbox here at Betty HQ—and lucky me, I got to be the one to test them out!
These hot new lippies complete Susan Posnick’s COLORESSENTIAL collection. Each shade in this fabulous line of lipsticks adapts to any lip color, which means that there are no “bad” shades for your skin tone. They glide on whisper-soft and keep your lips super hydrated all day, thanks to olive oil, minerals, and vitamins A and E. Not only that, but they’re formulated with not one, but two different antioxidants: Pomegranate, which protects lips from free radicals, and a sustainable South African plant called Paracress, which rehydrates the lips and reduces the appearance of fine lines. The result? Smooth, gorgeous lips with a delicious burst of color.
And what colors! Drawing their names from some of the most fantastic cities in the world, these yummy shades range from juicy berries to bright reds; the six new shades join the nine ones that had already been unveiled, giving you a choice of 15 glorious colors perfect for any occasion. My personal favorite? LA (top right). It’s a flirty pink shade with just a hint of shimmer—perfect for everyday wear. If, however, I’m in the mood for something more dramatic, I’ll go for Paris (bottom right). A classic red cream, it brings to mind vintage French glamour, but with a retro twist. The other four new shades consist of pretty peony Shanghai (right), bold coral Miami (left), pale coral Boca (top left) and deep red Tokyo (bottom left)—and they’re all beautiful. Every single one of ’em. Fab!
I did need to reapply LA a couple of times throughout the day, but that’s par for the course with most lip colors; besides, it went on so easily that it only took a second to do (and I didn’t even need a mirror to do it). As a bonus, the caps of these little lippies are magnetized, ensuring that they’ll stay put—no more messes inside your purse due to your lipstick coming uncapped! Just be sure you keep the magnetized caps away from your credit cards; we wouldn’t want your lipstick to accidentally demagnetize your plastic.
Snag ‘em for yourself at susanposnick.com—and let the sunshine in!
