No matter what "side" you're on, you have to admit, this election is one of the most exciting, unprecedented and fascinating ever! In the spirit of democracy, in addition to news articles and sharing the results of our surveys and polls, we offer this space as a forum for opinions from across the political spectrum. The Betty editorial team doesn't agree with everything you see below - in fact we don't all agree with each other at all! Of course, that's what keeps things interesting. Voters - and President-elect Obama - say yes to women's health
-Carrie Seim
Editor's Note: The following is one Betty's opinion.
BettyConfidential.com welcomes all opinions and doesn't endorse any particular candidate or political party.
In addition to saying "Yes We Can" to President-elect Barack Obama, voters Nov. 4th said "No We Won't" to three unsettling antiabortion measures that would have severely limited our reproductive freedom.
With all the excitement over the historic election, it's easy to forget there were a lot of other issues being voted on that day. Read more on the election and your health...

Did you know that Barack Obama can bench press 200 pounds? How about that as a teenager he used cocaine and marijuana?

Here are my top 10 favorites:
1. He was known as "O'Bomber" at high school for his skill at basketball (Not such a good one for our Commander in Chief!)
2. He has read every Harry Potter book... Read more facts about the President-elect...

I have been Black for more than half a century. To be accurate and precise, I have been colored, Negro, Black, Afro-American and African American and sometimes words that won't be repeated, for 55 years. I've seen a lot. Led a life rich and layered enough to develop a wry inner cynic. For all my excitement about Barack Obama's candidacy, I was afraid to believe in the possibility. Of course I chanted, "yes, we can", but I've been Black a long time. Read more about joy in the arc of history...

Great news with a bitter aftertaste

Those of us who thought Barack Obama's win was symptomatic of a liberal shift in our country's direction might be rethinking that optimism after seeing the various hate legislation that also passed. And don't even get me started on Grey's Anatomy putting the kibosh on the lesbian story line!
California, Arizona and Florida all passed amendments banning same-sex marriage. Arkansas passed a measure to limit adoptions and foster care to couples who are legally married (i.e., not gay). Read more about the ban...

Did Oprah's Vision Board Help Obama Win?
She's had her dress for his inauguration for months
-Julie Ryan Evans
Did Oprah's vision board help Barack Obama get elected?
The media queen believed in it enough to buy a dress for his inauguration months ago.
Apparently after a rally in February Michelle Obama asked Oprah to start envisioning Barack taking the oath. So home Oprah went to make her first-ever vision board, complete with a picture of the now president-elect and the dress she will wear in January. Read more about Oprah's vision board...
