WeeGo Wow!
-Green Mom Finds
There's a good chance that by now you've heard of the dangers associated with certain plastics that contain BPA (bisphenol-A). Unfortunately, there are still many name-brand companies out there that mnaufacture baby bottles out containing BPA and really, the safest and greenest (because plastics are made from oil) solution for avoiding it altogether is to simply use glass bottles. I know, I know. Glass and babies don't sound like they'd go together very well, right? But when it's a WeeGo bottle, with it's clever, attractive, dishwasher-safe and 100% non-toxic silicone sleeve that helps prevent breakage, you can stop fretting about using glass. The WeeGo also sports a silicone nipple that is latex-free and non-toxic and the plastic ring, plug and cap contain no polycarbonates and are food grade, FDA approved and recyclable. Wow, six yummy colors to choose from, totally non-toxic and it's recyclable, too... Color us impressed!

-Julie Ryan Evans
It was fun while it lasted ... Fergie purposely gained weight - 13 pounds in all - for her role in the upcoming movie Nine. Isn't that every girl's dream - to have to pack on the pounds?

In an interview with Usmagazine.com, she described her healthy plan of moderation: "You can do creative things. You know, turkey isn't fattening - you can do that. A little bit of gravy - have a nice big salad!" Read more about Fergie's Thanksgiving plan...

What's so great about yoga, anyway?
-Jessica Ruby, Zen Zone
Women have asked me, with the most serious of expressions, "What is so great about yoga anyway? It looks so dull - I mean, women don't even wear makeup or jewelry to class. Then you have to actually make an effort to get into those silly poses! Really, Jessica, what's so great about dressing blah and straining myself to look like some big human pretzel?"
After pulling my foot from behind my ear - OK, more like my finger - and picking my jaw up off the floor, I take a deep breath in and contemplate all the reasons why I heart yoga. Here's what I've come up with so far:

Diabetes on the rise - time for a food intervention!
Your "healthy" diet could be diabetes waiting to happen
-Meredith Sobel, sobelwellness.com

Diabetes affects one in 12 New Yorkers. Let's face it: That's more than a million people. I'd say that is a lot. I imagine you know more than 12 people? So, chances are you know at least one diabetic. Perhaps you are diabetic, or maybe a friend or a neighbor is. Diabetes is occurring more and more in children, and kids as young as 10 years old are being given diagnoses of what was once called adult-onset diabetes. Why is this?
Does it have something to do with our diet and our lifestyle? Perhaps. Let's consider this:
Breakfast: bagel and low-fat cream cheese, coffee with skim milk and two sugar packets. Read more about diabetes being on the rise...
