Claire Pettibone’s 2013 Bridal Wedding Fashion Show Was a Fairytale to Remember
From ultra-feminine cuts to intricate detailing, these dresses were made to enchant. Who needs a fairy godmother when you can have Claire Pettibone?
Earlier this year, Priscilla Chan wed billionaire Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in an intricate Claire Pettibone creation. Images of her gorgeous gown made the Internet rounds soon after, impressing quite a few brides-to-be.
And her whimsical Fall 2013 NY International Bridal Week fashion show certainly didn’t disappoint. Clothed in floral headpieces and lacey, embroidered numbers, the models looked like they glided out of the pages of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer’s Night Dream.
The runway was adorned with delicate pink and red petals, across which the fairy like creatures sauntered with bare feet. Floor-length white gowns flirted with whisper-soft pink, blue, green, purple, and yellow detailing. One moss green number, complete with white lace accents, was feminine enough to fit in at even the most traditional wedding.
There were delicate lace cap sleeves and wrist-length, Victorian-inspired coverings. Locks were pulled back and tousled while faces were kept fresh, lips plump and pink, and eyes a smoky purple.
We were quick to fall for this undeniably elegant line. Rarely do we see the perfect combination of vintage-like elements with fresh, flowing cuts and modern day makeup. We can’t guarantee that your great uncle won’t embarrass you in front of the in-laws, but we’ll bet all they’ll remember is your fairytale nymph look.
