Could a Simple Spray Help Me Stress Less?
I was ready to try anything to relax!

OK, I’ll admit it. I’m a little, shall we say, high-strung. I’m anxious by nature, and there are times when I know stress and anxiety can make me irritable. And this summer has been especially stressful. I was facing a big move — two weeks of cleaning, packing and general upheaval.
So it was a perfect time for me to try out an anti-stress spray that allegedly works with just six squirts a day. Oh, really? I’m open to some unconventional methods – I’ve had good results with acupuncture – but I’m always a little skeptical at first. On the other hand, I really wanted to destress.
I decided to try Sprayology’s Stress Relief spray, part of the company’s line of spray remedies and supplements. Sprayology’s products are based on homeopathy, a system of medicine that says some natural substances can heal the body’s sicknesses or chronic conditions.
According to the product information, the Stress Relief Spray uses eight different natural ingredients to combat symptoms of stress. This includes “passion flower to calm nerves, oats to ease anxiety, cinchona plant to reduce mood swings and valerian root to address irritability.” The directions instruct you to spray twice under your tongue three times a day. As I read this, I’m thinking, ‘So I spray this supplement under my tongue and my stress will melt away? Yeah, right.’” I couldn’t imagine it helping me in the moving process!
Still, I began the routine: two sprays in the morning, two in the afternoon, two just before bed. The spray is really easy to take: it has the consistency of water, and though the taste isn’t great, it’s not terrible either. It tastes a bit like watered-down cherry cough syrup.
