Difficulty Communicating with Men
Dear ASK REAL GUYS: I am not a shy person at all, in fact I flirt and talk to tons of people and have no problem striking up a conversation with a complete stranger. The only time that I ever have trouble in the confidence department is when I like a guy. It feels like I go blank and can’t think of anything to say. I am pretty sure I have been dumped because I didn’t seem interested enough in the guy. Why can’t I talk to men I am interested in?
Avery: You are probably overanalyzing your conversations with the men who you talk to. Don’t feel badly about this. We ALL do it. The next time you talk to a guy who you like, just pretend he’s your best friend, sibling or co-worker. Just keep the conversation flowing and try to talk about subjects that you know lots about. That will help instill confidence in you which will, in turn, keep the conversation flowing. Just think: the guy who you’re talking to is probably just as worried about what he’s saying too.
