Disney Gets a Grown-Up Makeover (Literally) With Amazing Eye Shadow Art
Makeup artist Katie Alves has created the most amazing series of Disney-themed eye makeup. Check it out here!
Who says Disney movies are just for kids? Not makeup artist and deviantART user Katie Alves!
Katie has done the most amazing series of Disney-themed eye makeup—although to be honest, I’m hesitant to call them mere eye makeup. These are WAY more than just a brush of eye shadow and a smudge of liner!
Kate specializes in drawing scenes on her eyes, lips, and face. According to her bio, she started with a tiny lip design in October of 2010, and when she discovered that she had a talent for it, she decided to run with it. You know those portrait miniatures that were so popular in the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries? I like to think of Katie’s work as the modern-day makeup equivalent: Exquisitely detailed works of art in the tiniest form imaginable.
As you can see above, Katie has covered everything from the classics (Snow White), through what I usually think of as the Golden Age (Beauty and the Beast), and all the way up to some of the most recent additions to the catalog (Tangled) She’s even done the odd one out:
A personal favorite: ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’
Nothing for Brave yet, though; hopefully we’ll be seeing it sometime soon! Check out the whole collection here, with more masterpieces depicting movies like Aladdin, The Lion King, Alice in Wonderland, and more!
Got a Disney movie you’d like to see Katie take on? Connect with her on deviantART, Facebook, Tumblr, or at her blog—and check out some of her amazing makeup tutorials on YouTube while you’re at it. They’re totally worth it!
