Flower crowns have become the newest must-have accessory this season. Whether you’re at a concert, prepping your wedding hairstyle, or attending an afternoon picnic, this customizable headpiece completes any look. Below we include a simple DIY tutorial to creating a beautiful flower crown in four simple steps.
- fresh flowers or various bouquets of your favorite fake flowers
- green floral tape
- green floral wire
- silver or gold steel wire
- ribbon to tie ends (optional)
Step 1. Measure the size of your head and cut the steel wire to that size. Note: leave an inch on both ends to secure decorative ribbon.
Step 2. Decide where your focal point will be on your headpiece and using the floral tape, wrap the tape around both sides (use step 1. as a guide, see image).
Step 3. Trim the flowers about two inches below the bud and using the green floral wire, secure the flower to the steel wire. Alternate flowers in a desired pattern and continue to secure them to the steel headpiece.
Step 4. When you’ve reached a preferred look, using the floral tape go back over and cover visible areas. Finish the ends by securing the decorative ribbon with green floral tape.
