Dueling Magazine Covers: Jennifer Lawrence vs. Jennifer Lawrence for Elle
Which of the two Jennifer Lawrence covers for Elle’s December 2012 issue would win in a fight?
Riding right on the coattails of Vogue UK, the US edition of Elle has finally hopped on the Jennifer Lawrence bandwagon. We’re not really sure what took them so long, but hey, as long as there’s love for our girl JLaw, we’re in support of it. Perhaps not unexpectedly, Jennifer graces the cover of the magazine in not one, but two different shots—and hey, guess what? We’ve got a look at both of them! One of them—the one subscribers will get in the mail—can be seen up top; meanwhile, the other one—the newsstand cover—can be seen below:
Naturally, with two different covers at stake here, we’re going to pit them against each other and see which one would win in a fight. And by that, we mean that we’re going to ask you politely which one you like better.
So: Which cover do you prefer, Bettys?
Fans seem to be split, especially with regards to the newsstand cover; reactions on various forums range from “Beautiful cover, the newsstand one! I love how bold they always make them. So much better than the UK one” to “Why are they doing these awful covers with solid backgrounds?”. Although I myself don’t have either the burning love OR hatred to the newsstand cover, I’m going to cast my vote for the subscriber cover. Putting aside the standard quibbles with the wet t-shirt contest that seems to be going on there, the composition of the shot is more interesting; and as an added bonus,Jennifer doesn’t look like she’s existing in some sort of strange, yellow vacuum. That said, though, I do sort of love the dress she’s wearing in the newsstand cover
But maybe that’s just me. What about you? Tell us what you think! Inquiring minds want to know!
